Meet The Travel Lounge Team

 The Travel Lounge team

A bit about us...

In August of 2007 I decided to take a gamble and buy The Travel Lounge.  Why? So I can promote our great state to the rest of the world whilst having heaps of fun!  I hope that one day The Travel Lounge will become a travel destination for travellers who wish to find unique information on discovering Australia, need a place to communicate with their family across the world and drink a coffee whilst chatting with other overseas friends and The Travel Lounge team. Our team is a lively, eccentric group of people who are dedicated to helping people make the most of travel in Western Australia. We love nothing more than promoting the amazing things to see and do in out state and having a drink at Little Creatures on a Friday afternoon. So come in, have a chat and see what we can do for you!

Kellie Jacobs - Managing Director

In recent months I got to marry my Luke in a beautiful ceremony in Margaret River and became the proud parent of a Jack Russel x Blue Healer called Archie. I am passionate about travelling, spending a large part of last year climbing to the top of Matchu Picchu in Peru, mountain biking down the world most dangerous road in Bolivia, sailing the Caribbean with 8 boys and dancing in the mud at Glastonbury.

My career background is in customer service and management, gaining most of my experience whilst living in the beautiful cities Melbourne and Sydney.

Growing up I lived on a big property and loved motorbikes, my wellington boots, mud and all our pets - including our kangaroos, sheep, emus, birds, turtles, etc.  Most of my cousins were boys so I wanted to do all the things they did. Years later Mum brought me my first sewing machine for Christmas and my love affair for fashion began. I studied fashion and textiles for 5 years and have showcased my designs in WA Design Awards, designed bridesmaid dresses, ballgowns and much more. When I was 19 my journey to Broome taught me many things about life. Here I managed a music store and travelled throughout Western Australia and the Northern Territory. My interests and loves are family and friends, summer, the beach, BBQs, holidays down South and Broome, art, fashion, travel, gym, and most of all my hammock, a glass of wine and a great book.

I am currently completing a degree in commerce majoring in hospitality and tourism management and human resource management, hoping to graduate in 2010 (hope to...) Growing up on a farm I've developed a mortal fear of chickens and  drove a tractor long before driving a car! As far as travel goes, my family believe that if you cant see it in WA, its not worth seeing at all! I've travelled extensively across WA and am passionate about introducing people to our beautiful state and all it has to offer. I enjoys trips down south, trawling the Freo markets and supporting the local music scene. In 2009 I plan to travel to Vietnam for two months to volunteer in Da Nang and hope to travel extensively throughout the globe before opening my own business. I'm currently learning to speak Vietnamese and hope to learn more languages down the track.
